Brand History


Sorel Liqueur was founded by pioneering distiller, Jackie Summers in 2012. He was the first licensed Black distiller in the U.S. Distilleries concentrate alcoholic beverages removing impurities that affect the final flavor. The term “distillery” refers to the whole building of operations where spirits or a variety of spirits are produced. Think of it like a factory of sorts. Each distillery has its own method for distilling products.

Product Ingredients


What is Sorrel? Sorrel is both a vegetable and herb. Both can be used in salads, stir-fries, and marinades. At its peak, sorrel has a bright, tangy, acidity that can be added to any dish. As a beverage, sorrel is made from hibiscus and spices, a popular drink in most Caribbean countries.


What is a Liqueur?


A liqueur is a distilled spirit like Brandy that is sweetened with sugar, or syrup that may contain ingredients such as fruits, herbs and oils. Liqueurs are made by infusing spirits with flavorings like herbs, spices and fruits, and then adding sugar. Liqueurs can be consumed on its own, in cocktails to add flavor to mixed drinks or desserts.
